The Commercial Law Practice, based in Aberdeen, was runner-up in a prestigious national award, recognising its significant achievements in commercial property matters. The firm had been in competition for the title of Commercial Property Firm of the Year at a ceremony in Glasgow on 13 September. The firm was a finalist in the category which was part of the annual Law Awards of Scotland event.
The Law Awards of Scotland, sponsored by O2, remain the only independent legal awards scheme in Scotland. The two-stage judging process saw some 6,000 questionnaires sent out to Scottish client companies, law firms and advocates to get feedback on the best law firms and the individuals that have made an impact on the legal profession.
Ian McLennan, head of the firm’s commercial property team commented “We are delighted to have been finalists in this category, particularly since the short list is selected as a result of the comments of clients and peers. To have achieved this, in competition with much larger firms from the central belt and locally is a fantastic result. It justifies our decision more than ten years ago to develop our niche practice without losing our individual focus on clients.”
The firm specialises in corporate and commercial property work and has a team of six lawyers in the commercial property division. It handles commercial business for local and national clients. |
