Experience   
Ian trained at a local firm before spending time with two large local practices, thereafter becoming a partner in a firm in 1991.  He set up The Commercial Law Practice LLP in 1995.
   
Areas of expertise
Property Development & Construction
Ian works within the Commercial Property Department of the firm where he specialises in property development (commercial and large scale residential) and construction law.  Ian heads up the Construction Department and has been involved in a number of prestigious developments all over Scotland working on behalf of clients and also institutional funders.
Typically, Ian works with developers and the professionals in the initial stages of a development advising on the requirements of funders, purchasers and tenants and co-ordinates all the relevant documentation required by those parties.
Ian also has been advisor on major planning inquiries and generally deals with all aspects of commercial property law.
