History of the CLP

Firm structure & regulation
Corporate social responsibility
Limited Liability Partnership
The firm is constituted as a limited liability partnership (LLP). The LLP corporate vehicle is becoming the standard trading entity for professional services firms, partly because of concerns relating to the unlimited liability nature of traditional partnership, which is now perceived to be outdated in view of the risk exposures on high value transactions that are dealt with by many professional service firms.

Regulation
The firm is regulated by the Law Society of Scotland, the professional body which oversees solicitors.  The Society enforces professional conduct rules as well as regulating the financial affairs of firms.  Complaints against solicitors are handled, in the first instance by the SLCC.

The firm carries mandatory insurance to protect clients in the unlikely event of our negligence or fraud. Click here for more information on the safeguards which protect our clients.
