History of the CLP
Based in the heart of Aberdeen’s West End, the Commercial Law Practice LLP was formed in January 1995. It was the first niche practice in the North East of Scotland to provide legal services dedicated to the business community, a position which remains to this day. We combine a traditional back-to-basics service with the best of contemporary methods.

The firm now provides specialist commercial legal advice on Scots law to all sectors of the business community from sole traders to businesses with large and diverse interests across the UK.

While the firm has expanded both its client base and its staff levels over the years we have never lost sight of our founding vision: that “clients needs are a priority and to that end a personal highly experienced service should be provided at all times”.

We are proud of our strong commercial ethos and track record in advising developers, investors, construction companies, occupiers and lenders on all aspects of business matters. The unique combination of our specialist skills and breadth of experience means we are well placed to provide effective, high quality advice on a wide range of areas. We have the expertise and experience to handle instructions of all sizes, but the real key to our success is our flexibility and ability to innovate.

We are recognised as one of the leading commercial firms in Scotland. We have achieved this through our work with a varied client base and through our unique involvement in each transaction. We aim to provide a complete service to our clients wherever and whenever required. Our knowledge of and depth of experience in the market place in which we operate is one of our key strengths.
